Background:

This protein binds the cAMP response element (CRE) (consensus: 5'-GTGACGT[AC][AG]-3'), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. Represses transcription from promoters with ATF sites. It may repress transcription by stabilizing the binding of inhibitory cofactors at the promoter. Isoform 2 activates transcription presumably by sequestering inhibitory cofactors away from the promoters.

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded rat brain labeled with Anti-ATF3 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated(bs-0519R) 1:200, overnight at 4°C, The secondary antibody was Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, Cy3 conjugated(bs-0295G-Cy3)used at 1:200 dilution for 40 minutes at 37°C.


Lane 1: mouse lung lysate Lane 2: mouse brain lysate probed with Rabbit Anti-ATF3 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0519R) at 1:300 overnight at 4˚C. Followed by conjugation to secondary antibody (bs-0295G-HRP) at 1:5000 for 90 min at RT.


Lane 1: Human 293T cell lysates; Lane 2: Human HeLa cell lysates; Lane 3: Human U251 cell lysates; Lane 4: Human A549 cell lysates; Lane 5: Human HepG2 cell lysates probed with ATF1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0519R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4°C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at 1:20000 for 60 min at 37˚C.
