Synthesizes the second messagers cyclic ADP-ribose and nicotinate-adenine dinucleotide phosphate, the former a second messenger for glucose-induced insulin secretion. Also has cADPr hydrolase activity (By similarity).

Formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded rat brain tissue with labeled Anti-CD38 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0979R) at 1:200, followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody and DAB staining
Mouse splenocytes probed with CD38 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0979R) at 0.2ug for 30 minutes followed by incubation with a PE Conjugated secondary (green) for 30 minutes compared to control cells (blue), secondary only (light blue) and isotype control (orange).
Rat Cerebrum lysates probed with CD38 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-0979R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4˚C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at 1:20000 for 60 min at 37˚C.
