Background:

Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space. This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Mutations in this gene have been found in patients with velocardiofacial syndrome. Alternatively, spliced __transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. VALIDATION IMAGES

K562 cells were ncubated in 5% BSA blocking buffer for 30 min at room temperature. Cells were then stained with Claudin 5 Polyclonal Antibody(bs-10296R)at 1:50 dilution in blocking buffer and incubated for 30 min at room temperature, washed twice with 2%BSA in PBS, followed by secondary antibody incubation for 40 min at room temperature. Acquisitions of 20,000 events were performed. Cells stained with primary antibody (green), and isotype control (orange).
