Background:

Endothelin A receptor binds endothelins, induces intracellular calcium flux and arachidonic acid accumulation. It is a member of the G protein coupled receptor family. Endothelin A receptor has been reported in a variety of tissues including placenta, uterus, testis, heart, adrenal gland, lung, kidney, ovary, skin, liver, bladder, large blood vessels, cerebellum, neurons, and meningioma tumor cells.
