Background: Participates in a common DNA damage response pathway associated with the activation of homologous recombination and double-strand break repair. Binds to single and double-stranded DNA and exhibits DNA-dependent ATPase activity. Underwinds duplex DNA and forms helical nucleoprotein filaments. Part of a PALB2-scaffolded HR complex containing BRCA2 and RAD51C and which is thought to play a role in DNA repair by HR. Plays a role in regulating mitochondrial DNA copy number under conditions of oxidative stress in the presence of RAD51C and XRCC3.

VALIDATION IMAGES

Mouse bone lysates probed with Rad51 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-20297R) at 1:300 overnight at 4˚C. Followed by a conjugated secondary antibody (bs-0295G-HRP) at 1:5000 for 90 min at 37˚C.


HEK 293 stained with Rad51 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-20297R) at 1:500 in PBS and incubated for one hour at room temperature, followed by secondary antibody incubation, DAPI staining of the nuclei and detection.


Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded human colon cancer; Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes; Blocking buffer (BSA or normal goat serum) at 37°C for 20min; Antibody incubation with Rad51 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-20297R) at 1:200 overnight at 4°C, followed by a conjugated secondary (sp-0023) for 20 minutes and DAB staining.
