Target Protein: MyoD1
Entrez Gene: 4654
Swiss Prot: P15172
Source: This MyoD1 antibody is generated from mice immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 105-134 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human MyoD1.
Purification: Mouse monoclonal antibody supplied in crude ascites with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
Storage Buffer: Aqueous buffered solution containing 1% BSA, 50% glycerol and 0.09% sodium azide.
Storage Condition: Store at 4°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage, store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Background: Acts as a transcriptional activator that promotes transcription of muscle-specific target genes and plays a role in muscle differentiation. Together with MYF5 and MYOG, co-occupies muscle-specific gene promoter core region during myogenesis. Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. Interacts with and is inhibited by the twist protein. This interaction probably involves the basic domains of both proteins (By similarity).
Cross Reactive Species: Human
