Background:

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase, belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. Polymorphisms in this gene have been implicated in modifying risk of Parkinson disease, and studies in mice show that overexpression of this gene may be relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

VALIDATION IMAGES

Lane 1: HeLa lysates; Lane 2: MCF-7 lysates; Lane 3: SW480 Lysates; probed with GSK3 beta(Ser 9) (7A4 ) Monoclonal Antibody (bsm-52160R) at 1:1000 overnight at 4˚C. Followed by a conjugated secondary antibody.


HeLa cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS and stained with GSK3 beta(Ser 9) (7A4) Monoclonal Antibody (bsm-52160R) at 1:200 and incubated overnight at 4C, followed by secondary antibody incubation, DAPI staining of the nuclei and detection.


MCF-7 cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS and stained with GSK3 beta(Ser 9) (7A4) Monoclonal Antibody (bsm-52160R) at 1:200 and incubated overnight at 4C, followed by secondary antibody incubation, DAPI staining of the nuclei and detection.
