Background:

Anchoring protein that mediates the subcellular compartmentation of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA type II). Acts as an anchor for a PKA-signaling complex onto mitotic chromosomes, which is required for maintenance of chromosomes in a condensed form throughout mitosis. Recruits condensin complex subunit NCAPD2 to chromosomes required for chromatin condensation; the function appears to be independent from PKA-anchoring.

VALIDATION IMAGES

25 ug total protein per lane of various lysates (see on figure) probed with AKAP95 monoclonal antibody, unconjugated (bsm-62636R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4°C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at r.t. for 60 min.
